Class Content and Structure

This 2-day Continuing Education course trains P&O professionals in the fundamentals, fabrication, and fitting of subischial socket and vacuum technology. The course is designed for experienced (5 years minimum) Certified Prosthetists. Each participant must register and be accompanied by his/her own Patient Model with transfemoral amputation.

The NU-FlexSIV Socket course includes an instructive overview with an accompanying NU-FlexSIV Instructional Manual, demonstrations, and hands-on fabrication of subischial sockets. This course is taught by the developers of the NU-FlexSIV Socket with assistance from other NUPOC P&O professionals. The course is designed for Certified Prosthetists-Orthotists with at least 5 years of experience.

The class is capped at 12 participants to ensure that attendees will obtain maximum benefit during the discussions, casting, rectification, socket fittings on your patient model, and troubleshooting of subischial sockets. Develop foundational information about the NU-FlexSIV Socket via a free, online webinar hosted by the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists.
